The American Council of Engineering Companies – California, the American Public Works Association – Region VIII, the American Society of Civil Engineers – Region 9, the California Geotechnical Engineering Association, and the Structural Engineers Association of California are coming together for the first time to host our 2021 California Engineers & Public Works Professionals Legislative Visit Week (LVW).
On behalf of our five host organizations and our collective 53,000+ members in California, we invite you to join us for our LVW event, which will be held virtually May 10-14, 2021. We will also host a virtual legislative reception at 4:30pm on Thursday, May 13, which you are invited to attend.
During these difficult economic times, new infrastructure investment will create well-paying construction and other employment opportunities. There is no economic development without infrastructure. Our infrastructure systems play a critical role in continued economic prosperity and preserving our quality of life.
Unfortunately, our state’s infrastructure renewal and replacement programs have been significantly underfunded for a long time. While the state Legislature, municipalities, and California voters have made big strides in recent years to raise additional revenue for our infrastructure, extensive funding gaps remain. We look forward to joining with you in our commitment to increase infrastructure investment to repair our existing networks and plan for California’s future!
