The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) is a heavy-rail public transit system that connects the San Francisco Peninsula with communities in the East Bay and South Bay. BART service currently extends as far as Millbrae, Richmond, Antioch, Dublin/Pleasanton, and Berryessa/North San José.

Reid Bogert (Senior Program Specialist, C/CAG, San Mateo Countywide Water Pollution Prevention Program) will be discussing the status of current and future green infrastructure, sustainable streets, and climate change projects and efforts in San Mateo County.
Reid Bogert is a Senior Program Specialist for the San Mateo Countywide Water Pollution Prevention Program, at the City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County. Reid oversees the countywide stormwater program and supports San Mateo agencies comply with the Municipal Regional Permit. In his five years with C/CAG, he has helped advance green stormwater infrastructure and sustainable streets initiatives, implemented 10 pilot Green Streets/Safe Routes to School pilot projects and helped C/CAG’s agencies work towards regional-scale collaboration on achieving stormwater management goals. Reid comes from a background in sustainability and conservation, and has worked on stormwater programs in the Bay Area and in Chicago.
The Stormwater Committee provides policy and technical advice and recommendations to the C/CAG Board of Directors and direction to technical subcommittees on all matters relating to stormwater management and compliance with associated regulatory mandates from the State Water Resources Control Board and San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board.

Liam K. Malone is a Bay Area attorney who represents construction industry clients with a focus on design professionals. Liam is trial counsel and outside general counsel for A&E firms throughout California, whose clients range from sole proprietorships to large international firms, with experience in both public and private works, design-build, lease-lease-back, and traditional design-bid-build project delivery.
Mr. Malone will provide a presentation that highlights strategies for engineers and design professionals to manage their risk associated with their contract scope of work. Using examples of disputes on which he has worked to recognize challenges his A&E clients have faced, he will work through various approaches to identify and mitigate risk associated with scope of work issues.
