The March lunch presentation features Rod Iwashita, Deputy Director, Chief Harbor Engineer;
and Ananda Hirsch, Capital Manager, both with the Port of San Francisco.
Mr. Iwashita is responsible for developing, planning and directing the work of the Port’s Engineering Division, which oversees several major functions including building and encroachment permits, engineering and architectural design, facilities assessment, construction management, and project management. He serves on the Port’s Management Oversight Committee for the Seawall Earthquake Safety Program, participates in the Mayor’s Sea Level Rise Coordinating Committee, and is an active committee member in numerous ASCE initiatives.
Ms. Hirsch prepares and maintains the Port’s ten-year Capital Plan and five-year $580M CIP. She aids in developing procedures for monitoring deliver of capital projects and helps problem solve when project budget challenges arise. She is on the team developing the Port’s first public benefit framework, to ensure that the Port’s economic activities benefit its neighbors, including those in historically disadvantaged communities.
